A prominent feature on Lackland since 1941, the mobilization open bay barrack (MOB) was the mainstay on the installation through four decades. A few hundred of these wooden, two story dormitories dotted the Lackland landscape of the base, providing as many stories for the recruits as the exploits of their training instructors!
