As most vets who remember "BCGs"will attest, there wasn't any choice in the matter, those glasses were issued and those are what were worn; however, in January of 2007, Trainees now had a choice of eyewear to choose from.
This initiative was brought forth by the 37th Training Wing commander, BG Darrell Jones who thought it a good quality of life issue allowing young men and women in basic a choice of 17 colors and styles to choose from.
